Pets of Older Persons (POOPS WA)
Pets of Older Persons is all about keeping older people together with their Best Friends
POOPS WA is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers that provides a fee-free pet care service for elderly pet owners. We have been carrying out our mission of ‘Keeping people and pets together’ since 2010. Today we support clients in the Greater Perth Metro area and Busselton.
At POOPS we believe no one should have to give up their pets due to age, and our volunteers actively work to keep people with their pets for as long as possible. Our generous volunteers form ongoing relationships with our clients.
Our clients are pet owners who are over the age of 60, or palliative care patients of any age who need assistance with caring for their beloved pets and are unable to pay for support.
Our volunteers are animal lovers who are happy to assist and value their time with their POOPs pets and pet-owners. We can help with dog walking, transportation (to vets, boarding facilities or groomers), administering medication or whatever is needed and is mutually agreed between the volunteer and pet owner.
While all services and transport provided by POOPS WA volunteers do not incur a fee, clients are liable for all costs associated with veterinary fees, boarding fees, grooming and the like. To assist our clients further, POOPS can connect your furry friend to our network of discount vet, boarding and grooming services.
